GOALS
Problems and Opportunities:

Lack of sustainable fishery management, fishery data that is not aggregated, illegal or destructive fishing methods, underutilized human capacity.
Goals:

  • Consolidate and share fishery catch data.
  • Assist seafood companies with product tracking for food safety and legal compliance.
  • Nurture local, in country, human capacity to conduct fishery research; develop, manage, and audit Fishery Improvement Projects (FIPs).
WORK
  We work to address some major hurdles that exist for artisanal, near shore, fisheries to be managed sustainably and to facilitate the development of fishery improvement projects (FIPs) including:
  Data:

A network for fishery information
collection, storage, and dissemination
with the aim of legal compliance, food safety, and sustainable fisheries.


Connect:

A network for fishery and aquaculture professionals to connect for research projects, certification consultancy, and auditing.

Support:

A network to collaborate on grant fundraising, management, and disbursement for Fishery Improvement Projects (FIPs).
